The Jura, a country where life is good!



In summer or winter, the Jura is a privileged and rich tourist destination with many lakes, rivers and waterfalls.

It is also the country of gastronomy, wines, cheeses and crafts


Towns and villages of character:


  • The capital of the comte cheese, Poligny (7km) with its Maison du Comté (museum) to discover the making of this regional cheese.
  • Arbois (15km) surrounded by vineyards, you can find many places to taste our local wine.
  • Visits to two villages classified among the most beautiful in France: Château-Chalon (24km) and its famous yellow wine and Baume-les-Messieurs (26km) with its spectacular remote, a typical Jura landscape.
  • Lons le Saunier (25km): capital of the Jura, you can visit the house of the laughing cow
  • Dole: birthplace of Louis Pasteur, a historic city located along the Doubs.

Cultural and natural sites

  • The saltworks: Arc-en-Senans and Salins les Bains, two sites that collected salt which played an important role in the Jura economy. These two sites are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Castles and abbeys: Château d'Arlay, Château du Pin, Château de Frontenay
  • Caves and Waterfall: Moidons caves, Baume-les-Messieurs caves, Hérisson waterfalls, Tufs waterfall.
